Padmé Amidala Naberrie, commonly known as Padmé Amidala (Born 46 BBY on Naboo-died 19 BBY on Polis Massa) was a Naboolian human female politician who became a leading voice for peace and diplomacy during the last days of the Galactic Republic. She rose to galactic prominence when the Trade Federation invaded and occupied her homeworld of Naboo, went on to serve as a leading member of the Galactic Senate during the Clone Wars, and became the wife of Anakin Skywalker (who later turned to the dark side as Darth Vader) and the mother of the legendary Alderaanian Princess and General Leia Organa and Tatooinian Jedi Master Luke Skywalker, though she died after giving birth to both of them, and Palpatine explained to her husband that he killed her, when in reality it was Palpatine who was responsible for Padmé's death and he did it by siphoning her life force and using it to prolong Vader's own life.[1]
