Marina is the titular main protagonist from the 1975 anime film Hans Christian Andersen's The Little Mermaid. She is a beautiful mermaid who will do anything to be with her prince whom she saved from drowning. She changes into sea foam in the end, because she never ends up with the prince, killing her in the process. She was voiced by Fumie Kashiyama in the Japanese version and the late Kirsten Bishopric in the English version.[1]
